Welcome to the training multimedia website, hosted by award-winning interactive multimedia producer, Enlightenment Interactive.
This site is intended for trainers who are looking either to source off-the-shelf interactive multimedia training and e-learning materials, whether CD-ROM, DVD or intranet delivered, or to have a new interactive multimedia or video package designed and produced for them.
As well as describing our own interactive multimedia and video production services and listing our ready-made multimedia and e-learning titles, the site provides an introduction to the creation and use of new media for training and e-learning, including the issues of different authoring styles, the choice of platform and the questions the trainer is likely to have to resolve with their IT department, such as the bandwidth available on the organisation's intranet, the multimedia capability of the desktop PCs, CD-ROM or DVD drives, the browser and the use of a learning management system.
Interactive multimedia and e-learning are extremely powerful and flexible tools for the trainer, but, whether delivered to the desktop or accessed in a learning centre, we believe they are no substitute for contact with the trainer, in spite of what some multimedia producers claim. Blended learning, where multimedia elements are blended with live training seems to be proving more successful. Virtual classroom technology can be used to achieve blended learning where face-to-face contact is physically impossible. The interactive multimedia or e-learning elements can be used for pre-course work, refresher training, interactive visual aids to support a live course in a blended learning context.
